Dennis Carlin plays drums in the Leaving Trains. That's "officially." Off the record, under the table, away from the numbers, over the hills and far away -- he also indulges in synthesizer, guitar, bass and singing. That's Dennis snarling the lead vocals on "Judy Don't Mind," the most popular tune from the Leaving Trains album EMOTIONAL LEGS. But Dennis is more than a pretty face in a post-teen-idol rock combo. He writes and sings a lot of his own romantically spacy music in EMA 3 (named after a curious scrap of dialogue from BLADE RUNNER), a synthesizer duo with the Helpful Nuns' Fred Manchento. Dennis plays drums and sings in Pointy Kitty, and has performed with the Shakes, Sluts for Hire, the Leaving Trains (back when they were an '80s band), among many others.
